O-103 Update
The Halifax
Regional Council is in the process of passing By-Law
O-103 to ban Open Air Fires in HRM.
The by-law was
proposed to address the concerns of fire safety and reduce or
eliminate airborne polutants.

THIS AFFECTS YOU
Kingswood
sub-division is OUTSIDE THE NO BURN ZONE but the new by-law

COUNCILOR
RANKIN NEEDS OUR HELP (PRO OR CON)
To voice your
opinion regarding the whether to reduce the proximity limitations
from 225 feet to 100 feet from the nearest dwelling, Councilor Rankin
has suggested sending an e-mail to the clerk's office for
distribution to council. The address is clerks@region.halifax.ns.ca.

THE
KINGSWOOD RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION STAND
The Kingswood
Ratepayers Association neither supports or opposes the ban on open
air fires as the community response has been mixed on the issue. The
Board encourages the residents to form their own opinions and send
e-mail to the councilors at the address mentioned above to let their
concerns be known. |
