Karmen
Pipes Family Fund
New Update -
Posted May 01, 2003
Karmen is a
14-year old girl who has grown up in Kingswood and was diagnosed with
a very serious heart condition.
We are
delighted to report that she has completed her heart surgery in
Ottawa and is now recovering and getting stronger every day. Her
family is also in Ottawa concentrating all of their time with Karmen
giving her love and support.
Community
Auction Update
The community
benefit auction and dance at the St. Margaret's Bay Arena on Friday
was an overwhelming success! Together we were able to raise over
$15,000 to help the Pipes family. As you can appreciate the cost of
travel and accommodations is a huge drain on anyone that would find
themselves in this very serious situation. There is still a long time
to go as they expect to be staying in Ottawa to continue the recovery
phase until the end of June.
If you were
not able to attend the community benefit auction and still want to
help out, cash donations can still be made through The Karmen
Pipes Family Fund, Scotia Bank Main Branch in Tantallon or
the Bedford Branch which is at the bottom of the Hammonds Plains Road
near Dairy Queen or contact Mary and John Gammon 835-1399 with
questions or concerns.
Heartfelt
Thank you from the Pipes Family!
The Pipes
Family wishes to send along a heartfelt Thank You to all of the
people that made donations and to the hard working volunteers that
came together to reach out in this time of need. |
